"Warm Glow" is a 16" x 16" Encaustic painting by Linda Cordner, with a studio in Boston, Massachusetts

Linda Cordner works tirelessly in her studio that is as neat as a doctors office. All around are hung series of delicious encaustic paintings that she creates with warm wax heated to just the right temperature and infused with pigment to keep the colors bright and alive. Her work immediately wants to be touched as the surface is smooth and shinny. She delicately touches the places where there might be a slight scratch and smooths it out with her fingernail gently rubbing it until it disappears. Each work is composed of layer after layer of wax built up on the surface until she determines it is complete. The smell of the combination of bee's wax and paraffin delight the senses and helps to create the ambiance in the studio. Owning one of Linda's amazing works can only be described as a very personal experience, as they are magical.
