Barbara Zinkel, has a unique way of creating her serigraphs, using as many as 50 different colors for some of her more complex prints. Each portfolio of prints is hand pulled and created in a limited edition. Her use of brignt, dramatic color brings the viewer into the excitment she creates with her geometric shapes and bold use of primary and secondary colors. She incorporates her geometric shapes in both city scapes and landscapes and challenges the viewer to explore the surface of these lucious prints with an exploring eye. A long-time Michigan artist, Barbara's works have been exhibited in both corporate and residential settings.
When you stand in front of one of Barbara Zinkel's exquisite serigraphs they appear to have a 2nd dimension and feel almost sculptural in their appointed spaces. A vibrant Louise Nevelson, a real jazzy Mondrian, Barbara may borrow from the past but surely makes her own statement with a visual acquity few artists can achieve.
Every one of Zinkel's serigraph prints is hand-pulled onto 100% acid-free two-ply rag paper in an edition no larger than 250.
