A self-taught, modern, abstract artist, I have felt the call to create art all my life. In grade school art classes at P.S. 185 in Brooklyn, New York, I colored outside the lines - on purpose! After college, I fell in love with jewelry design, and for 15 years my handcrafted work sold nationally in galleries and boutiques.
In 2001, I delved into digital art and was a Macworld Digital Art Contest winner. My work was exhibited with others in the Jacob Javits Center in New York, and my art and process were published in the book, “Secrets of Award-Winning Artists” by Jeremy Sutton and Daryl Wise. I sold limited-edition prints in galleries and other venues.
Later, I turned to acrylic painting, creating brightly colored abstract and whimsical works and selling many in New Jersey and Seattle, where I had lived for a few years. Today, I am back to digital and living in southern coastal New Jersey, where I draw inspiration from the area’s pine forests, Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay, and countless estuaries teeming with migratory birds. Though I often paint with bold colors and marks, I also enjoy working with a more muted palette and subtle imagery. I believe experimenting and evolving are important and fun parts of the process.
