Steven Branfman enjoys an international reputation as a clay artist. His Raku Ware is in the collections of the American Museum Of Ceramic Art, The Alfred Ceramic Art Museum, the Mungyeong Ceramic Museum, Fuller Craft Museum. Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, Crocker Art Museum, Canadian Clay And Glass Association, Holocaust Memorial Museum Of San Antonio, and others. He is the founder/director of The Potters Shop & School, a founding and current board member of the National K-12 Exhibition Foundation, and is the Past Chair and founding board member of The Potters Council of the American Ceramic Society. Steven teaches pottery at Thayer Academy in Braintree MA. Steven is the author of four books, Mastering Raku: Making Ware-Glazes-Building Kilns-Firingpublished by Lark Books, Raku: A Practical Approach first and second editions, published by Krause Publications, and The Potters Professional Handbookpublished by The American Ceramic Society, and writes frequently for craft and pottery magazines.
