I started drawing in the 4th grade and haven't stopped. After two degrees, BFA, Columbus College of Art and Design, and MFA University of South Carolina, I went on to teach at the collegiate level. After a time I left to work full time as an artist. Much of my work incorporates ephemera, those items that we hold near and dear because they illicit memories of our history. I frequently us the image of the nest a powerful metaphor of home, and family. In addition I incorporate items of whimsy and reflections of the everyday. I desire to tell a story with each work that evokes an emotional connection. I desire that each or my works reflect my passion for the process of creating art and for my world.
