Jon Barlow Hudson

Yellow Springs, Ohio

I work on any scale, in a wide range of materials, in various motifs & types of installation.  Large scale sculpture projects are throughout the States & in 27 countries: 22 in China alone.

Many of my projects are in metals like stainless steel. I especially like working with stone. Virtually all have been designed with intended sites & functional or thematic aspects uppermost in mind, within budget & on schedule. Most notable was working with Expo 1988 in Brisbane, Australia, for which I constructed the 100 ft. hi. PARADIGM & the 15 ft. dia. MORNING STAR.

My sculpture projects tend to be abstract, often geometric. The stone sculptures tend to be a balance of natural aspects with human interventions.   Certain projects might have more literal or figurative aspects.

My sculpture may be seen as iconic, or symbolic, often referencing a center, whether actual or spatial. I am concerned with creating a sculpture that embodies & communicates meaning.
