Initially my medium of choice was transparent watercolor. I was able to translate my love of light and color with it’s natural luminosity. Subsequently I became fascinated with another waterbased medium and continued to explore transparency, now using the opaque medium of gouache. My subject matter began to transition from natural landscapes to architectural themes and interior spaces. Their geometric lines provide a perfect template to render patterns of light and color in a more abstract way. Integrating representational and abstract concepts has expanded the possibilities of unique, personal interpretation by the viewer. In this way my intent and perspective does not limit the reality of what others see. In the past three years, I have exhibited with the National New England Watercolor Society and became an artist member of the Cambridge Art Association and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. I received awards in the national shows of both the New England Watercolor Society (2011) and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society (2012). It was a particular honor to be accepted into the American Watercolor Society show in 2013. My painting was exhibited at the prestigious Salgamundi Club in NYC in the annual AWS show. Most recently I became an artist member of the Copley Society on Newbury St in Boston and a signature member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. Currently I am working in my space at the Fountain Street Studios in Framingham, MA.
