Since my childhood I've found art can create my own world for me within the actual world I share with everyone else. As the daughter of an artist father and poet mother, probably that was bound to happen. But I've also found it happens for most people, given half a chance.
My collectors say my art adds delight to their decor, soothing moments to harried days, and fascinating mental challenge. I'll add to that, for my own part, creating the works provides both soothing moments and mental challenge for me, as well - perhaps those qualities move from me to the work as I'm creating it.
