“Glass just seems to bring the ocean out of me.” Jeremy grew up fishing and spending time on the ocean of Cape Cod. This experience combined with his unending imagination create a line ofwork focusing on sealife unlike any otherʼs. Now a scuba diver his love of the ocean has deepened. The visual experience of the deep helps create variety in his work represented in his coral reef scenes and tidepools. The sense of harmony while being immersed in the ocean creates emotion that flows into his work with clarity and colors.”To manipulate molten glass with fire is a way to look closer and experience what I lovewith an almost extreme mode of conciousness.” This heightened sense of awareness iswhat Jeremy strives to maintain. It is the same sense he experiences while diving. Staying present with his work helps him when “constantly trying to find a balance of color, light, transparency and form.” For him, glass is a perfect medium to mimic thesea. “This medium definately reflects what I miss, what I look forward to and what I dream.” |
