ARTIST STATEMENT

My art is about representing nature in the most organic sense using the interaction of materials and space. I begin with sketches so I am allowed the freedom of unlimited imagination before proceeding to the practicality of fabrication. I am always considering not only the basic form, but also the play of light and shadow on my work and its surroundings. I continue to answer the challenge of creating movement with minimal elements that would appear to have grown into the composition. Working in a collaborative relationship with collectors, designers, art consultants and architects on a variety of commissions, my sculpture has been readily adapted to both commercial and residential spaces. My work can be found in galleries, private collections, corporate offices, hospitals and in the television and movie industries.
