STEPHANIE GASSMAN

Stephanie Gassman creates wall sculptures, or reliefs ... numerous overlapping shapes, created with a variety of materials, and put together like a giant puzzle.

Most of her art is commissioned, and designed to meet a particular set of parameters. She enjoys the challenge of invention, and filling a space with something meaningful for a community, a corporation, or an individual for their home. Her growth as an artist is constant, and fueled by the diversity in her clientele and their needs. Every commission is a new adventure, and leads to her talent for combining techniques and materials to create an unusual statement, or tell a great story.

Although Stephanie has a fine art education from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, with many scholarships, prizes, and a fellowship to her credit, she spent several years as a graphic artist and art director. This experience has provided her with the ability to work well with clients who commission art.

Her work can be found in residential, corporate, and public environments around the United States, including hospitals and universities. She has also installed several commissioned projects as the result of national competitions, through the Percent for Art Program.

The range of her work is extensive ... lobby art portraying the history of the investment firm, J &W Seligman Inc., in New York City; entry art that also functions as a teaching aid, at the Center for the Reproduction of Endangered Wildlife, in the Cincinnati Zoo; to a large sunrise extravaganza, for Ocean Convention Center in Daytona Beach.
