Christine Vaillancourt, Memories of Detroit influence her industrial design

I developed my technique of manipulating acrylic paints and mediums to look like encaustic or wax. My multi-layered abstract geometric paintings are reminiscent of 1950's geometric patterns and industrial design influenced by memories of growing up in Detroit, Michigan. The motifs are painted between layers of translucent acrylic medium allowing them to float in space over and under each other.

My undergraduate degree is from UNC at Chapel Hill and graduate degree from Rhode Island School of Design.
