For over 30 years, I have been making art in one form or another. Living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico since 2012 has allowed me to explore a new landscape of vivid forms and colors. I received my MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and have work in the collections of MCV Hospital, New Market Bank, and Buckingham Branch Railroad, all in Richmond, VA and The American Craft Museum In New York to name a few, as well as many private collections. Receiving grants from the Virginia Museum and two from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, I have exhibited my work internationally at many galleries and other venues, and have been offered art residencies, most recently in Lama, New Mexico and Auvillar, France.
My current work attempts to layer images visually as we hear sound in our daily lives. These ideas inform my mandala paintings as well in the kaleidoscopic arrangement of elements from nature.
I have completed two public and two private mandala mural commissions here in Mexico and am currently working on a new one for a private residence.
