My paintings have always been involved with people in urban spaces. Most, but not all, of my paintings are of New York City and its incredible diversity. I have been painting New York City since I arrived from Ohio 50 years ago from Cleveland, with my BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in hand.
Most recently I completed a commissioned painting (triptych) of the interior of Grand Central Terminal, 11 ft. h x 5 ft. w. It is installed in the lobby of a residential tower, 4540 Center Blvd, in Long Island City. I have exhibited widely; received awards including the Thomas B./ Clarke Award for figurative painting at National Academy Museum, 2nd Place at the Butler Midyear, and NEA and NYFA Grants. My paintings are in the collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., to name a few, and more than 50 corporate collections.
