Daniel Murray- Reclning Puppy on a bench

Daniel Murray

I have been an artist for over 25 years. I studied at UCONN School of Fine Arts and the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I apprenticed with the late Master, Paul Suttman, learning classical investment bronze technique and it has been those experiences that have set the groundwork for much of my work today.

I'm inspired by the form and movement of many of those creatures that exist in the wild woods that surround my home. Recent work has been dealing with hybrids. Bringing diverse elements together with a classical contemporary swing and a theme of change and transformation. American Spinx, for example, speaks to modern influences on a mythic idea.

My work is in private collections throughout the US and most recently I completed a private commission for the Rosenberg Arboretum in Glen Arbor, MI. An upcoming show is scheduled for spring 2017 at WAA in Washington, CT.
